About Us
Beach House Cambodia is a unique, beachfront guesthouse, on the stunning island of Koh Rong Sanloem.
Proud to support our island community.
Our History
Our journey started in 2013, when Rob came to M’Pai Bay training as a PADI Scuba Instructor. He fell in love with the special blend of M’Pai Bay’s charming local community, it’s stunning beaches, nature above and below water – with it’s beautiful, healthy coral reefs (best in Cambodia) and raw jungle all around. Inspired to share his love for the island the vision for Beach House Cambodia was born.
In 2014, building began and soon Beach House Cambodia became a reality. Since then, we have loved hosting thousands of guests, who have appreciated our comfortable, hand-crafted rooms, our hospitality and our extra special location – directly on the beach with stunning views of sunrise and sunset behind our peninsula.
In 2015, fundraising for ’23 Health Post’ project began. More below.

At Beach House Cambodia, we strive to create the perfect environment for you to relax, recharge and rejuvenate; meters away from the glistening, crystal clear water of M’Pai Bay. Our handcrafted accommodation ensures your comfort, where all guests enjoy hot showers. We are happy to offer options for all travellers, from air conditioned houses, spaces for 5 guests and smaller fan rooms.

Maybe you want to chill in a hammock overlooking the a bay with a fresh fruit smoothie and a good book. Or get active using our free snorkel gear, paddle-boards, kayaks or join activities we love to arrange such as evening plankton tours or day boat trips for times when you want to explore.
In such a beautiful and unique location, we are proud to have developed a wellbeing offering featuring daily yoga and meditation classes for those looking to support their wellbeing.
Community
We take pride in our ongoing work to support our amazing local community of M’Pai Bay village, which now extends to the whole island.
Since 2015 our core focus has been ’23 Health Post’ project with breakfast clubs when we have enough people to help.
Beach Cleaning is a way of life for us and we always support projects having a positive impact on our natural environment, like regular beach and village clean ups.
Some recent projects include:
23 Health Post
Starting in 2015, Beach House collaborated with UK charity Rainbow Collections Children’s Foundation to fundraise, build and equip M’Pai Bay’s Community Health Post – for our local community. The full journey is here – other local businesses supported and several fun, fundraiser events were held!
Since completion in Feb 2019 we have developed our partnership with Cambodia’s Ministry of Health, providing local Nurse visits routinely, offering open clinics for all living on the island, with support of mainland healthcare system. Post-covid our collaboration was formalised and a team of 2 now assigned and happy to be part of the project and community long term. Mr Dara (Community Nurse) and Ms Sreyka (Mid-wife), visit and stay regularly . We gave further support in Jan ’24 with our Booster appeal – adding a portable Ultrasound to medical equipment now available remote community and its nurses.
The building’s Community Space gets used for volunteer initiatives like Breakfast Club, visiting NGO’s or as a clean space for the brilliant national animal welfare charity PPAWs – who’s amazing team visit to provide free de-sexing and rabies jabs for local four legged friends.
Beach Cleans
The oceans are not escaping human impact and the unfortunate reality of the ongoing battle with human-generated plastic in our oceans is that it impacts the stunning beauty of Koh Rong Sanloem. Sometimes, big storms bring in a lot of plastic.
As responsible business owners, we pride in our beach and take our role seriously – regularly join other like-minded businesses in organising and supporting village, beach and reef cleans.
We are proud to take a leading role in preserving the natural beauty of the island and keeping our waters and beach clean and beautiful.
We’ll always welcome guests to join us.
Breakfast Club
Following the completion of the Health Post, the community enjoyed many wonderful months of weekly “breakfast club” gatherings. Attendees enjoyed a nutritious meal and participated in a health lesson, followed by games and dancing.
Beach House, Sharon (Bar Bok Bowie) and Berit (Wine@Mine) helped manage these events, which sometimes hosted 70 children. The memorable chaos is absolutely wonderful, and we’re delighted to have had our first post-Covid breakfast club in March 2023 which you can see here. With more in ’24 and more to come!
Plastic free, sustainability
We are deeply committed to sustainability and preserving the environment.
We are proud to not sell any plastic at Beach House and prioritise recycling and reusing materials whenever possible. Unlimited drinking water refills are available free – and chilled glass bottles to take to bed, avoiding the need buy any plastic during your stay.
When you stay with us, you can rest assured that you’re supporting eco-friendly practices and doing your part to help the environment.
